Eastern Spencer Gulf Zone amendment policy

The public consultation period for the draft Aquaculture (Zones – Eastern Spencer Gulf) Amendment Policy 2016 has closed.

The draft Aquaculture (Zones – Eastern Spencer Gulf) Amendment Policy 2016 outlines the proposed changes to the aquaculture zone policy area near Wallaroo in the Spencer Gulf.

The proposed amendments would allow industry to explore the farming of finfish, as well as scallops, sea cucumbers and algae. The current Aquaculture (Zones – Eastern Spencer Gulf) Policy 2005 only permits the farming of molluscs.
