Riverland Sustainable Futures Fund

The Riverland Sustainable Futures Fund (RSFF) ran from 2010 to 2014 to facilitate the region’s recovery from the prolonged drought, unprecendented low water allocations and low commodity prices.

The 4 year, $20 million fund aimed to encourage further investment in existing businesses, and assist the region diversify its economic base.

The State Government’s regional development team worked with the local community to identify broad areas of opportunity for economic and population growth, to build on existing strengths and improve competitive advantages.

The fund was accessed by organisations, industry and businesses to fund projects that would have a major and sustainable impact in the region and assist in the delivery of:

  • structural change
  • population growth
  • enhanced employment outcomes for the Riverland.
The program supported 31 local projects, leading to the creation of up to 235 jobs and more than $48.7 million in total project investment.
