The Senior Agricultural Officer (Eyre Peninsula) is responsible for providing skilled technical assistance to conduct research across a number of research projects that have a focus of evaluating the performance of crop varieties and improving agronomic practices. Through this research, and the promotion of research outcomes to the industry, the Senior Agricultural Officer will contribute to improvements in the productivity and sustainability of farming systems on Eyre Peninsula.

Special conditions

This is a contract / term vacancy up to 30/06/2019. This role is located in Minnipa, however work from the Port Lincoln based office may be negotiated. Interstate and intrastate travel and some out of hours work, weekend and public holidays travel will be required. A current Class C driver's licence is essential. A 'heavy vehicle' licence is highly desirable. Use of common agriculture chemicals is required and a Chemcert chemical handlers certificate or a willingness to obtain one is essential. The role involves field work and exposure to dust and pollen.
