South Australian identity and proud food, wine and agribusiness ambassador Andrew 'Cosi' Costello has thrown his support behind the Government of South Australia's efforts to keep the state free from foot and mouth disease (FMD).
The Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA), working closely with the livestock industry, is rolling out an education campaign to help people understand the simple steps they can take to keep the industry safe from the threat of disease.
Cosi will be sharing practical advice about what every South Australian can do to protect the state from the threat of diseases like FMD. In an upcoming episode of 'South Aussie with Cosi', Cosi will showcase this advice alongside fellow farmers and biosecurity experts visiting his own farm.
The awareness campaign is supporting ongoing efforts to protect South Australia’s livestock industry from the threat of diseases, including working with stakeholders about best biosecurity practice in their operations; providing advice to vets; and supporting key industry groups like Livestock SA with education for their members.
