Public consultation has closed on an application received from Jillian and Michael Coates for a new intertidal mollusc (oyster) aquaculture licence in Streaky Bay, South Australia.
About the aquaculture application
PIRSA is assessing the application which proposes the farming of Pacific Oysters (Crassostrea gigas) and Native Oysters (Ostrea angasi) using contained longline farming structures.
Draft lease and licence certificates containing co-ordinates and draft conditions can be accessed through the aquaculture public register by searching the lease (LA00451) and licence (AQ00420) number.
Location of proposed activity
The proposed activity is located within the intertidal waters of the Point Gibson aquaculture zone, identified within the Aquaculture (Zones—Streaky Bay) Policy 2011.
