Ceduna fruit fly outbreak eradicated

The Ceduna area quarantine restrictions have been lifted due to the successful eradication of Mediterranean fruit fly (Med-fly).

The affected area had included the Ceduna township, bounded by Betts Street, Decres Bay Road, Smith Road, Collins Street, Schwarz Street, Goode Road and north along the Eyre Highway to the PIRSA Quarantine Station.

The Ceduna outbreak was separate to the outbreak declared in nearby Thevenard on 19 January 2019. Quarantine restrictions remain in the Thevenard area.

PIRSA would like to thank all residents for their assistance during this time. Learn how to keep your area fruit fly free.
