Mark Laucke is Managing Director of Laucke Flour Mills, one of Australia's few remaining family-owned and operated flour milling companies.
Established in 1899, Laucke Flour Mills provides specialty flours and pre-mixes for the food industry and home consumers through the milling of wheat, rye, spelt and triticale. It now has mills at Strathalbyn and at Bridgewater in Victoria and exports to New Zealand, Asia, the UK and North America.
In 2015, Mark was recognised for his commitment to South Australia's food industry when he received the Bickford's Australia Leader Award at the South Australian Food Industry Awards.
Mark is passionate about ensuring the development of quality grains. He was president of the Flour Millers Council of Australia for 15 years, is a member of several research and development committees, councils and boards and has been a leader in promoting the benefits of a food value-chain focus.
"Marketing to me is about creating a belief in potential customers that what you're offering is the best choice for them," he said.
"I've been able to do that for my own business, I've done that for our industry where I can, and I'm seeking to do that for our state."
