Our primary production includes grain and dairy, meat and livestock, wine and horticulture, fisheries and forestry, as well as food and fibre manufacturing.

Key production areas span throughout the state with each region boasting unique, premium quality produce.

Our industries have been shaped by our natural environment encompassing diverse micro climates, clean rich soils, pristine water sources, abundant sunlight and green pastures.

With our investment in technology increasing to allow for greater flexibility to innovate, grow and adopt more efficient and sustainable practices.

South Australia is indisputably Australia's wine state producing approximately 80% of the country's premium wine and 50% of all bottled wine.

Our 18 picturesque wine regions boast some of the world's oldest vines.

We are home to a diverse range of seafood producing high value products like rock lobster, southern bluefin tuna, oysters, mussels, prawns and abalone.

Our plantation forests cover 168,000 hectares supporting 1.4 billion in sales of wood and paper products and we are home to some of the most productive dairy farms in the country.

South Australia's primary production is protected by rigorous biosecurity measures to keep our state fruit fly free, and we are one of the few places in the world that is free of the vine-ravaging pest, Phylloxera.

Further enhancing our reputation for innovation and technology expertise in our primary industries, South Australia is home to globally recognised education, research and development institutions.

Our state is also protected by legislation and frameworks that supports South Australia's primary production and clean environment including well-established natural resource management and impeccable safety and quality assurance standards.

Our premium quality produce, clean environment, strict biosecurity measures and product integrity provides South Australia with a significant advantage in global markets.
