The next Country Cabinet will take place on 11-13 September in the Tatiara, Southern Mallee and Karoonda East Murray communities.
Registrations are now open for the community BBQ and public forum, which will be held on Sunday 11 September at the Tatiara Civic Centre in Bordertown. The event is open to anyone with an interest in the issues that affect the Mallee South region.
Community members are also able to register to have a one-on-one meeting with one of the state’s ministers prior to the public forum.
The Mallee South round of Fund My Idea will open shortly for community members to submit their ideas to be considered for funding. Fund My Idea awards $50,000 to each host area of a Country Cabinet for project proposals that will assist the community meet its economic and social needs. Ideas are submitted by and voted on by the public, with the top three ideas considered for funding.
Country Cabinets were introduced in 2014 as part of the Premier’s commitment to regional South Australia, and help give regional areas a stronger voice. Local residents have the opportunity to meet with the Premier and Cabinet ministers to discuss ideas and challenges specific to their region.
