Have your say on $50,000 of KI & Fleurieu funding

It's your last chance today to have your say on $50,000 in funding for community projects on Kangaroo Island and the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Voting closes at 5pm on Monday 7 August for the current round of the State Government’s Fund My Idea community grants program.

15 ideas have been submitted from communities in the Kangaroo Island, Yankalilla and Victor Harbor council areas

The public can now vote for the projects they think should receive up to $50,000 to benefit their community. The projects are:

  • Upgrading the American River walking trail to make it disability-friendly
  • A significant social support service in Victor Harbor
  • An unemployment training service at Port Elliott
  • A beach boardwalk at Second Valley
  • A replica of the first boat built in South Australia at American River
  • Music technology workshops for young people across Kangaroo island
  • Expanding disadvantaged employment opportunities at Urimbirra Café in Hindmarsh Valley
  • A bridge across Jacks Creek at Penneshaw
  • A new playground for Myponga
  • Outdoor fitness and gym equipment around Victor Harbor R-7 School oval
  • Heaters for the Myponga Primary School hall
  • A sensory garden at Victor Harbor High School
  • Expanding the Encounter Celebration to the Fleurieu Peninsula and Adelaide
  • Upgrade the Parndana Town Hall and Museum precinct
  • Subsidising domestic cat desexing and registration on Kangaroo Island
