Sydney Dance Company is set to visit regional South Australia for the first time in 16 years with their celebrated new triple bill, De Novo.
Country Arts SA is proud to present this internationally-acclaimed contemporary dance ensemble across the State’s regions for performances in July and August, before the tour closes in Adelaide.
Performed by some of the finest dancers in the country, De Novo unleashes three fresh, wily works with choreography by Artistic Director of Sydney Dance Company Rafael Bonachela, Swedish dance prodigy Alexander Ekman and Adelaide-based rising star Larissa McGowan.
The first piece, Emergence, features costumes by Australian fashion designer Dion Lee and is set to an original soundtrack by acclaimed singer-songwriter Sarah Blasko and composer Nick Wales.
Fanatic presents an hilarious pop-culture mashup that pits Alien vs Predator using unique audio from the iconic film franchises put together by Country Arts SA’s Creative Director Steve Mayhew.
The final piece, Cacti, presents an irreverent, entertaining commentary on the pretensions of contemporary dance.
