November will see the Limestone Coast Country Cabinet take place in the council areas of Mount Gambier, Grant, Wattle Range, Robe, Kingston and Naracoorte Lucindale.
This is the third Country Cabinet of 2015, and provides a chance for local people to attend a public forum, speak directly with ministers in one-on-one meetings, or join the online discussion.
How can I get involved?
The public forum and barbecue will be held at Mount Gambier High School on Sunday 22 November, with registrations now open to attend.
You can also join the discussion now by sharing your views on local issues in the online discussion now open for comments.
The Limestone Coast round of the Country Cabinet ‘Fund My Idea’ program has now opened. $50,000 is available through this grants initiative to areas that host a Country Cabinet meeting. Funding ideas for community-based projects can be submitted through the YourSAy website until Monday 14 December. Public voting will take place between 18 December and 4 January, giving the community the opportunity to have a say in how the funding is used in the local area.
Examples of projects that have already been awarded funding through the regional Fund My Idea initiative include a new active space at St Joseph’s School in Renmark, a performing arts centre catering for children with special needs in Mount Barker, the ‘Far West Mojo’ project in Ceduna empowering Aboriginal youth with digital journalism skills, and a new canteen for the Upper North Regional Sports Stadium in Jamestown.
