This statement advises the Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA)'s policies relating to the privacy of your personal information.

This site is operated in compliance with the Government of South Australia's Information Privacy Principles.

These policies are based on national and international privacy standards.

Statement to users

Users should note there are inherent risks associated with transmission of information via the internet. Users should make their own assessment of the potential risks to the security of their information when deciding whether or not to use our website facilities.

Information we collect

When you visit our website, our internet service provider automatically records your visit and logs the following information for statistical purposes:

  • your top level domain name, such as .com, .net, .gov etc
  • the date and time of your visit to the site
  • the pages accessed and documents downloaded
  • time spent on individual pages
  • time spent overall on the site

  • referring site such as a search engine.

Occasionally we use independent measurement methods to gather non-personal information regarding the visitors to our websites and apps on our behalf using cookies, log file data and code which is embedded on our website and apps.

These statistics tell us how our sites or apps are being used and help us improve to make them useful, informative and enjoyable.

PIRSA retains the email address of people who send an email to us via our contact page, for the purpose of sending a response.
