South Australian Soils Collaboration Centre (SCC)

The Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA) and the Department for Environment and Water (DEW) are working together to deliver priority actions from the National Soil Strategy through the Soils Collaboration Centre (SCC).

About the Soil Collaboration Centre program

The Soil Collaboration Centre is building the foundation for long-term, strategic soil action in South Australia by bringing together land managers, industry, researchers, policymakers and the community.

Through stronger connections, better soil information and shared learning, we support the protection, management and improvement of the state’s soil resources. This ensures soils are valued, understood and cared for now and into the future.

What the Soil Collaboration Centre offers

  • Access to tools, data, and guidance tailored to local soil conditions for informed decision-making.
  • Details about internships, mentoring, and education pathways in soil science and land management.
  • Opportunities to connect with others working in soils, access shared resources, and participate in on-farm soils-focussed learning events.
  • Trusted data and community insights to shape soil strategies and on-ground action.
  • South Australians working with soils can apply for financial assistance through the Soils Collaboration Centre’s (SCC) South Australian Soils Bursary Program.
