White Ribbon

The Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA) will always remain committed to standing up, speaking out, and acting to prevent men’s violence towards women and children.

One in three women experience physical or sexual violence perpetrated by someone known to them, and one in five women experience harassment within the workplace.

We aim to become a lead agency in creating change that will promote gender equality, healthy relationships, and a new vision of masculinity. Speaking out against domestic violence is everyone’s business.

We are committed to:

  • never excuse or remain silent about domestic violence against women, and
  • always take action.

Violence against women is not tolerated at PIRSA and we have policies and procedures to support survivors of domestic violence and abuse.

White Ribbon accreditation

PIRSA has been a White Ribbon Workplace Accredited organisation since 2016.

PIRSA policy

Employees who are experiencing or escaping domestic violence are recognised and supported through our Domestic and family violence workplace policy ( PDF 325.8 KB ).

We also have a Gender Equality and Respect Action Plan which puts in place key actions and strategies to support our commitment to gender equality and ending domestic violence.
