South Australia’s green credentials – and the commitment to Net Zero by 2050 – are highlighted through a series of videos showcasing how carbon farming and innovative land management practices are helping to combat climate change through sustainable agriculture.

The State Government’s Growing Carbon Farming Pilot Program provided grants of up to $100,000 to businesses to undertake carbon farming initiatives. This series of 6 videos showcases the role of landholders in integrating sustainable farming practices that reduce emissions, enhance soil health, and boost biodiversity.

Rolling out from today, the videos highlight work right across South Australia, including the Limestone Coast, Murray Mallee, Riverland, and Far North regions.

The first video features Thomas Foods International, whose new vegetation and soil projects at their Mount Schank property utilised the pilot program funding to help achieve a key business goal of running productive and profitable farms with lower carbon emissions.

Additional videos showcasing projects from Duxton Apples, Farmlab, Mallee Sustainable Farming, Thomas Elder Institute and Upper North Farming Systems will be released in the coming weeks.

The video series demonstrates the positive impact of sustainable farming initiatives and highlights the ongoing partnerships between the South Australian Government, industry, and landholders. These collaborations are vital to maintaining profitable farming practices in a green economy.

The videos will be available for viewing on Growing Carbon Farming Demonstration Pilot and on PIRSA social media accounts.
