Fishcare volunteers at the caravan and camping show

Caravan Camping Show Fishcare volunteers

Fishcare volunteers were kept busy at this year’s Caravan and Camping Show at the Adelaide Showground, engaging with visitors across the five-day event and sharing information to help people enjoy fishing responsibly in South Australia.

The stand attracted strong interest from both local and interstate travellers, many of whom took the opportunity to learn more about South Australia’s recreational fishing rules and download the SA Fishing app before heading out on the water.

Volunteers spoke with 735 people over the course of the show, answering questions about fishing zones, updated rules and bag and boat limits. New bag and boat limit flyers were also well received, providing fishers with a handy reference they can keep for their next trip. View the marine waters and freshwater limit flyers.

To help demonstrate how easy it is to use the app, two iPads were set up at the stand with the SA Fishing app ready for visitors to explore. Many attendees were particularly interested in the ‘Add fishing log’ feature and asked questions about how to log their fishing trips and contribute information that helps support better fisheries management.

The event was a great opportunity for Fishcare volunteers to connect directly with the fishing community, helping both new and experienced fishers stay informed and ready for their next South Australian fishing adventure.
