More timely shark sightings
Thursday 2 April 2026 Quarterly Catch
Water users are encouraged to check out the updated report a shark sighting page, recently refreshed by the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.
The webpage has been upgraded so that shark sighting reports are now published live, providing timely information to support public awareness and safety.
Sightings listed on the page are based on reports submitted by members of the public. In the interest of transparency and community safety, all reported sightings are immediately posted.
Records are reviewed by PIRSA and may later be updated to remove duplicate reports or amend information found to be inaccurate.
This improvement makes it easier for beachgoers, fishers and boaters to stay informed about recent shark activity in their area.
If you see a shark, report it promptly to help keep everyone informed.
Keep an eye out for the new shark reporting stickers, available through Fishcare volunteers and selected tackle shops:

The stickers include a QR code that links directly to the shark sighting page, making it quick and easy to access the latest information or submit a report on the spot. Designed to be placed on boats or tackle boxes for easy access, the stickers help ensure reporting details are always close at hand when you’re out on the water.
