Funding boost for RDAs
Monday 22 December 2025 Regions
Seven Regional Development Associations (RDAs) will receive extra funding over the next four years to continue delivering projects, supporting local businesses and attracting investment in our regions.
The Government of South Australia has increased the next round of funding by over half-a-million dollars to $13,750,000 for 2026 to 2030, in recognition of increased costs and the need for indexation.
South Australia’s seven non-metropolitan RDAs are:
- Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island
- Barossa, Gawler, Light, Adelaide Plains
- Far North
- Limestone Coast
- Murraylands and Riverland
- Whyalla and Eyre Peninsula
- Yorke and Mid-North.
The RDAs are funded to develop and implement viable projects and programs to address region specific opportunities or issues, attract investment, develop strategies to facilitate regional growth and provide advice to the State Government on economic development opportunities.
In addition, a Regional Strategic Plan, a Regional Project Plan, and an Investment Pipeline Report are informed and developed by each RDA Board and staff members.
Under the structure of the peak body Regional Development South Australia, the RDAs come together to collaborate closely on a wide range of cross-regional issues and economic development projects that are fundamental to the future and well-being of South Australia.
