New funding stream for regional projects
Friday 20 February 2026 Regions
A new stream of funding is now being delivered through the Enabling Infrastructure Program to help get regional projects in their early stages off the ground.
The stream offers grants between $10,000 and $75,000 to support feasibility work, business cases and other preparatory activities to help more regional projects progress to a shovel-ready or investment-ready stage.
In the latest round of the Enabling Infrastructure Program, 13 community groups and organisations have received more than $600,000 in funding through the new stream, including the Riverton Community Management Committee which received $10,300 for their Riverton Reimagine Project.
Partnering with an external provider, the project will create a roadmap for increasing business stability, boosting economic growth, attracting new investment and revitalising the main precinct. A main street designer will also be engaged to explore options for signage, lighting and accessibility.
The revitalisation also aims to enhance community cohesion and encourage local spending through a targeted ‘shop local -buy local’ approach.
Part of the State Government’s $15 million Thriving Regions Fund, the Enabling Infrastructure Program supports infrastructure projects that strengthen and build strong regional communities and improve liveability.
