Thriving Communities enabling upgrades at Port Broughton sporting facilities

Port Broughton sporting club

Members and visitors at 2 Port Broughton community sporting facilities are set to enjoy easier access to clubrooms and facilities thanks to the State Government’s Thriving Communities program.

The Port Broughton Combined Sporting Club is the latest club to benefit from the program, having just received more than $34,000 in funding towards the installation of 3 bifold doors to its viewing deck, allowing for those with wheelchairs or walking frames easier access to the popular spectator area.

The installation of an access ramp and automatic door at the Port Broughton Bowling Club, following a $50,000 Thriving Communities program grant, will improve access to its clubrooms and facilities, enabling more visitors and members to take part in activities at the venue.

The Port Broughton projects are 2 of 38 projects across South Australia’s regions which have been given a jumpstart through the Thriving Communities Program, part of the $15 million Thriving Regions Fund.

The Thriving Communities program provides grants for small projects such as new or improved infrastructure, training, services or events with wellbeing outcomes.
