Visit PIRSA at the Eyre Peninsula Cleve Field Days

Eyre Peninsula farming families, regional business owners and agricultural industry professionals will have the opportunity to learn about the latest agricultural trends and network with industry experts at the upcoming Eyre Peninsula Cleve Field Days.

PIRSA will be among more than 400 exhibitors at the renowned agricultural event, held in Cleve from Tuesday 11 August to Thursday 13 August, which is expected to attract more than 10,000 visitors over the 3 days.

The latest information and advice on biosecurity, H5 bird flu, drought management, fisheries and aquaculture will be available at the PIRSA tent, where a wide range of experts will be on hand to share details about the Department's work on the Eyre Peninsula and across South Australia.

Visitors can:

• Learn about animal biosecurity and issues such as footrot, lice, livestock movement documentation and livestock disease concerns.
• Pick up information on H5 bird flu and learn how to stay informed and prepared.
• Refresh their knowledge of livestock identification and traceability requirements for cattle, sheep and goats using the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) database, the transition to electronic identification (eID) for sheep and farmed goats, and the rebates available to support implementation.
• Find out about the Grains Farm Biosecurity Program – Australia's flagship biosecurity extension program that helps improve preparedness for biosecurity risks in the grains industry. The stall will also have free biosecurity resources, including booklets and farm gate biosecurity signs for grain producers.
• Learn about drought support programs available through the Government of South Australia. PIRSA's Drought Support Team can provide resources and advice to help manage farms, livestock and land during drought conditions.
• Chat with PIRSA Fisheries Officers about the latest recreational and commercial fishing restrictions, fisheries compliance requirements and activities across South Australia. Visitors can also take a closer look at the Fisheries Patrol Vessel on display, pick up a free fish measuring gauge and educational resources to help correctly identify and measure their catch.
• Discover how PIRSA is working with the Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board and local landholders on priority issues, including pest plant and animal control.
• Get the latest information on Australian Wool Innovation's lead grower extension project and learn about professional development opportunities for woolgrowers.
• Learn how PIRSA, through its partnership with Fat Farmers, is supporting the mental health, wellbeing and social connection of primary producers across regional South Australia. Drop in to the Fat Farmers Mobile Health Hub for free skin checks and SiSU Maxi self-guided health checks, including blood pressure, heart rate, body fat and BMI.

The PIRSA tent will also feature information on a range of programs delivered by partner organisations, including:

• Regional Development Australia – information on the Eyre Peninsula Drought Resilience Plan and the distribution of future Australian Government drought funding.
• Small Business Fundamentals Program – an initiative of the Government of South Australia's Office for Small and Family Business and the South Australian Small Business Strategy 2023–2030, designed to increase opportunities for small businesses across the Eyre Peninsula.

The PIRSA tent will be located at Site 463, D Road.
