Amanda Cook
Biography
Amanda Cook has over two decades of experience in leading, managing and extending applied R&D for the improvement of profitability and sustainability in low rainfall farming systems. Amanda is the Senior Research Scientist and oversees the delivery of the Agronomy research team at the SARDI Minnipa Agricultural Centre on Eyre Peninsula.
Amanda has practical experience in a wide range of farming systems topics, such as rotations, herbicides, stubble management, weeds, barley grass, barley grass resistance, brome grass, disc seeding systems, stripper stubble, strip and disc systems, harvest weed seed collection, break crops, lentils, Rhizoctonia, fertiliser placement, fluid fertilisers and dry seeding. Amanda has direct relationships with Eyre Peninsula growers and has established relationships across a broad range of primary industry stakeholders both in South Australia and nationally.
Amanda oversees the delivery of a large portfolio of Research and Development that delivers outcomes to key crop industries and addresses the current and future challenges of sustainable and profitable in low rainfall agriculture on Eyre Peninsula.
