Dr Alice Weaver
Biography
Dr Weaver joined SARDI in 2018 and has over ten years of experience conducting livestock studies under both research and commercial production environments. A reproductive biologist by training, Dr Weaver has expertise in intensive and extensive animal trials, embryology, ovarian follicular dynamics, artificial insemination programs, methane mitigation and animal nutrition.
She is involved in large-scale, national, and multi-institutional projects which has highlighted the importance of information sharing and collaboration across different stakeholder groups and industry partners. Dr Weaver is passionate about developing real solutions that strengthen the productivity and resilience of our primary producers and is eager to accelerate the translation of research outcomes into on-farm adoption.

- Nutritional strategies to improve ewe and lamb survival in the perinatal period
- Improving reproductive outcomes from artificial insemination in the Merino ewe
- Mitigating negative impacts of heat stress in sheep
- Reducing enteric methane emissions from ruminants using novel supplementation strategies
