Dr Janine Croser

Biography

Dr Croser has led research teams across University, private and government sector organisations. Her ability to foster productive relationships with grains and pasture industry stakeholders has been instrumental in driving collaborative research initiatives. Career highlights include development and delivery of platforms to accelerate genetic gain to the Australian grains and pasture industries, demonstrating her capacity to translate fundamental research to industry application. In her current role as Program Leader for Crop and Pasture Improvement Janine supports her team to deliver research in molecular genetics, breeding and ecophysiology.

Her research interests include improving disease resistance and quality traits for major commodity crops and harnessing opportunities in agricultural emissions reduction. Over the past two decades, Janine has served as Chief Investigator in projects worth more than $30 million in direct funding from GRDC, MLA, CRC-P, ARC-LP and SAGIT. Her academic contributions are reflected through publication in high impact journals and in completed PhD and Master’s students.

Dr Croser has served as a Board member in the not-for-profit and commercial sectors and as Principal of a biotechnology consultancy company. Alongside her role at SARDI, Dr Croser is an Affiliate at The University of Adelaide and Adjunct at The University of Western Australia, where she collaborates with colleagues to deliver industry-relevant research and provide supervision to postgraduate students.
