Dr Liz Farquharson
Biography
Dr Liz Farquharson (PI, SARDI) has over 20 years’ experience in research in plant-microbe interactions, with an emphasis on rhizobia and N-fixation research. Liz is PI on the National GRDC funded project UOA2312-008RTX, Improving the understanding and the effectiveness of N fixation in pulses in Australia.
Liz manages the soil biology subprogram in SARDI which conducts applied research in the identification, impact and management of soilborne pathogens, as well as potential soil health indicators (nematode community analysis) and beneficial microbes.
Liz and the team work closely with the SARDI Molecular Diagnostics unit to develop new research test capabilities. Liz has an excellent track record in grower and industry engagement, bringing together diverse teams to address industry issues.
