Murraylands and Riverland

The Murraylands and Riverland Region, in the central eastern part of South Australia, covers the Murray River corridor and adjacent Murray Mallee. The region is home to over 60% of the State's wine grape production and is the largest producer, by volume, in Australia. It also accounts for over 90% of the State's citrus and almond production. The region is experiencing a renewed commitment to investment in on-farm activity and associated value chains, much of which has been catalysed by the $265 million South Australian River Murray Sustainability program.

Investment opportunities lie in the viticulture, horticulture, livestock and grain production areas, and associated value-added manufacturing. Potential also lies in the region's significant food processing capability, with the Murraylands in particular developing as centre for livestock production and processing.
