Identification
Australian Herring (Tommy Ruff) look similar to juvenile Australian Salmon. Make sure you know the difference so you can return undersized salmon to the water.
Tommy Ruff have:
- large eyes
- rough scales
- clear or silver pectoral fin
- silver tail with black tips.
Juvenile Salmon have:
- small eyes
- smooth scales
- yellow pectoral fin
- yellow tail with a black edge.
