Reporting pest animals

Reporting pest animals helps us to manage control programs. With information of your sightings, we can make sure potential pests don't establish populations in South Australia.

This is particularly important for wild dogs, to help us monitor pest control targets.

Report a non-established pest animal

Pest animals can quickly spread in the wild. If you see a non-established (reportable) species, we want to hear about it!

Report sightings to the Pest Alert Hotline.

Follow these steps for reportable pest animals:

  1. Take a photo of the animal and check it against the catalogue of pest animals in South Australia to help us identify it.
  2. Capture the animal if you can. Securely contain it and give it food and water.
  3. Report the sighting or capture to the Pest Alert Hotline.

Report an established pest animal

If you see an established pest animal, we want to hear about it!
