Provide as many details as you can when reporting a shark sighting, including:

  1. The location and number of sharks sighted.
  2. How close the shark is to shore, and to swimmers or other people.
  3. The species of shark (if known).
  4. A description and approximate size of shark.
  5. Any other details that may be relevant.

Recorded sightings

The shark sightings log provides recent and historical sightings based on information given to Fisheries Officers.

The Australian Animal Acoustic Telemetry Database documents the movement of tagged sharks, rays and other marine animals within Australian coastal waters from 2007 to the present.
