Forestry Centre of Excellence

The South Australian Government has committed $15 million over 10 years for a new Forestry Centre of Excellence in Mount Gambier. This incorporates the National Institute for Forest Products Innovation (NIFPI) and other forestry funding streams.

We anticipate that the Centre will be acknowledged as an international leader in forest industries for research, education, product, and market development. It will enhance the Green Triangle region through building local capacity, national collaboration, and reputation.

Construction is expected to commence in April 2025 on the Wireless Road tertiary precinct, with completion anticipated for January 2026. Find out more about the vision and concepts for the Centre as announced in the launch:
