Estimating time between GS30 and GS50
The time between GS30 (end of tillering, start of stem elongation) and GS50 (end of booting, flag leaf is out, start of head emergence) depends on weather, growing region and varieties.
A rough indication for wheat and barley is shown in table 2, ranging from 35-40 days in warmer climate areas (such as central NSW, Mallee, and the Upper Eyre Peninsula), to 80 days in cool climate areas (Tasmania).
