Communications technology – Goanna Ag, LoRaWAN gateway
Goanna Ag’s long range wide area network (LoRaWAN) gateway connects rural sensors and communication technologies.
Benefits
The LoRaWAN gateway is a technology solution for regional and remote areas where there is low, or zero connectivity.
Its low power requirement is suitable to connect sensors across large farms. The gateway relays data back to the office from all compatible devices at a low cost.
How it works
LoRaWAN gateway uses a narrowband network, transmitting small amounts of data over large areas.
Installation and power
The technology can be installed by a Goanna Ag field technician or a specialised contractor. Seek advice when planning the placement and installation of a LoRaWAN gateway.
We recommend that you assess the height of the mount for the gateway to determine if council approvals are required.
Power is supplied by a solar panel and battery.
Pricing model
There is an upfront cost with ongoing subscription costs.
