PIRSA supports funding opportunities for primary producers, regional businesses, and initiatives that benefit them. You can apply for the below grants, rebates, subsidies, and assistance programs that:

  • boost industry growth
  • help with regulatory compliance
  • address community and business challenges, including emergency events.

Open funding

Algal Bloom Fisheries and Aquaculture Assistance Grant

One-off grants of up to $100,000 are available to support eligible licence holders that have been significantly impacted by the algal bloom.

Algal Bloom Small Business Support Grant

A $10,000 grant to assist businesses who are impacted by the algal bloom.

Connecting Communities Events Grant

Grants to host events that foster social connections and provide support during times of drought and adversity.

eID Essential Equipment Rebate (Producers)

SA producers of sheep and farmed goats can apply for up to 75% of costs for equipment needed for property to property movements and meet NLIS reporting obligations.

Enabling Infrastructure Program

Medium to large grants available for infrastructure projects that strengthen and build strong regional communities.

Expanded eID Device Rebate

The rebate for sheep and farmed goat electronic identification (eID) has been expanded to include all 8 colours in the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) year-of-birth (YOB) colour system for accredited eID tags.

Fee relief for commercial fishers impacted by algal bloom

Commercial fishers, aquaculture and charter boat operators affected by the algal bloom can apply for relief for lease, licence and other fees.

Inland River Flood Event (SA) Freight Subsidy

Eligible primary producers may apply for one grant per primary production business for 50% of the total eligible transport or freight costs, up to a maximum of $5,000 (ex GST).

Inland River Flood Event Primary Producer Recovery Grant

The grant is to support clean-up, relief and recovery costs for primary producers that have suffered direct loss or damage as a result of the Inland River Flood Event (SA)

Loans to Cooperatives

PIRSA provides loans to eligible cooperatives engaged in processing and storing primary products. Learn more about the scheme and how to apply.

On-farm Drought Infrastructure Rebate Scheme

Rebates up to $20,000 for for primary producers who implement infrastructure projects that assist with managing current drought conditions and strengthen preparedness for future droughts.

Outbound Knowledge Exchange bursary program

Bursaries to support South Australian wine industry professionals to travel to other Great Wine Capitals

Publicly Accessible Standpipe Upgrade Fund

Funding for councils to support the upgrade of publicly accessible standpipes in regional areas.

Rural Support Grant

Grants providing up to $1,500 in financial assistance to eligible SA primary producers and rural small business owners experiencing significant financial hardship. Go to the Rural Business Support website.
