Feed silo monitor – AKA Primary Solutions

The feed silo monitor provides real-time data and automated alarms to help you keep track of available livestock feed.

It is produced by Harvest Electronics and supplied by the Australian agent, AKA Primary Solutions.

Climbing up the silo to check levels is a health and safety hazard. The feed monitor offers a safer way to see the silo level through an online platform.

Customisable level alarms also improve efficiency of the business and inform your feed ordering in a timely manner.

How it works

The feed silo monitor uses a laser sensor to measure the level of feed remaining in the grain bin. The laser has a motorised shutter, preventing dust build-up from affecting the reading.

Data is available via the smartphone app and webpage. It shows the maximum height of:

• the silo (3,084mm)
• the level of the feed inside (3,065mm).

Connectivity requirements

The grain silo monitor can be connected to a Harvest logger or used to send data to any SDI-12 capable logger.

Harvest uses cellular networks to send data to its server. Wireless UHF radio remotes can be used to collect data from around the property.

Installation and power

Available as a standalone package or as part of a full ITU G2 system. The silo monitor is solar powered.
