Rain gauge – Farmbot Monitoring Solutions
The Farmbot rain gauge remotely monitors rainfall for specific locations on your property, to help with water management.
Benefits
The rain gauge shows exactly how much rain falls over on your property, so you aren’t reliant on data from an external weather station.
It helps to understand local microclimates, which is useful for:
- predicting pasture growth rates and yield potential
- making on-farm water decisions.
How it works
The Farmbot rain gauge measures and automates records of rainfall in increments of 0.1 millimetres. It has a self-emptying tipping bucket.
The gauge is connected to a Farmbot Monitor for data transmission and power supply.
Rainfall data is provided as latest rainfall, month-to-date, year-to-date and rolling 90 days. It is stored automatically for easy record-keeping and can be exported to CSV or other formats.
Data is accessible through the Farmbot mobile application or web-based platform.

Power is supplied by a solar panel with a large battery capable of running for more than a week without direct sunlight.
Connectivity requirements
The Farmbot rain gauge connects to a Farmbot monitor for data transmission, requiring satellite, 3G, or 4G network.
