The 2025 Eyre Peninsula and SA Arid Lands Flood Recovery Primary Producer Grant has been created to enable impacted primary producers, grower groups and farming system groups involved in invasive species management, operating within the Cleve, Franklin Harbour, Gawler Ranges and Kimba districts to manage biosecurity risks arising from the major rainfall event.
Grants may be provided for the purpose of improving biosecurity outcomes for eligible primary production enterprises, including:
- Rehabilitation costs – establishing native vegetation for erosion control and re-establish ecosystems affected by invasive species,
- Baiting programs – coordinated baiting campaigns targeting species such as foxes and rabbits,
- Fencing and infrastructure – repairing/ upgrading / or establishing fencing to exclude pest and impact causing animals (e.g., exclusion fencing),
- Monitoring technology – purchase of remote camera traps, or GPS equipment to track pest animal movements,
- Training and licensing – for landholders or landholder groups to gain formal certifications in pest and weed management, and
- Weed control equipment – purchase of petrol/ electric spray units, weed wipers, boom sprayers, knapsacks, spray equipment attachments, and equipment to build own setups may be eligible for grant funds up to 60% of costs, to a maximum value of $7,000 inc. GST. The applicant must contribute remaining costs. Second-hand equipment (operational) is eligible and must be sourced from reputable suppliers, as determined by the Program.
- Other equipment – purchase of equipment not included in (f) that can be demonstrated to support pest management may be eligible for grant funds up to 60% of costs, to a maximum value of $7,000 inc. GST. The applicant must contribute remaining costs.
- Community engagement and extension – organising workshops or field days that incorporate education on managing biosecurity risks or demonstrating novel approaches to pest and weed management.
Amounts
Total funding available is $40,000 (GST exclusive) per applicant.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the grant, the applicant must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be a Primary Producer or a Farmer Organisation as defined in Section 10 or a partner in, or member of, an entity which meets either of those definitions.
- Operate a Primary Production Enterprise or, if a Farmer Organisation, seek to undertake eligible activities within the Grant Program regional boundaries (see Appendix 1).
- Hold an Australian Business Number (ABN).
- Be registered for GST or be a Not for Profit Organisation.
- Be a legal entity capable of entering into a legally binding agreement with the Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development or, in the case of a Farmer Organisation which is not a legal entity, the Farmer Organisation must ensure that its application is auspiced by a legal entity.

Applications must be supported by:
- A copy of one (1) of the following documents evidencing the applicant operates a Primary Production Enterprise within the project boundaries (see Guidelines Appendix 1):
- most recent council rate notice,
- lease agreement of primary production land.
- For Farmer Organisations, other evidence of operation within the Program boundaries (see Guidelines Appendix 1) may be provided.
- A schedule of works, either completed or proposed, along with associated invoices for completed works or quotes for proposed works. Where development approvals are required, this is the responsibility of the applicant.
- For applications that involve multiple parties, applications must be submitted by one party (the Representative) on behalf of all involved parties. These parties must each sign the application form or supply a letter of support and provide evidence identified in 5.1 a), to be submitted with the application form.
- Where planned works will be undertaken on land which is not owned by the applicant, ensure that written consents from relevant landowners are included with the application.
